RACHEL'S WALK Written by David Flor Initial Draft 4/1/2010 FADE IN 1 INT. HALLWAY -- MORNING Camera moves down length of hallway in hotel, panning across the room doors. WRITTEN: A DARKLIGHT INTERACTIVE PRODUCTION Camera stops in front of room 305, then passes through door and smooth fades to inside of room. 2 INT. HOTEL ROOM -- MORNING WRITTEN: (RACHEL - ACTRESS NAME PENDING) Grand suite of hotel room. Camera continues long take, panning across living room area and focuses on numerous objects including: room service menu identifying the hotel as the Waldorff Astoria in New York, room service tray with empty plates and trays indicating breakfast, luggage on floor next to couch, various photographs and notes spread across table (details of which pending as some elements will be for in game discovery). WRITTEN: (BINK - ACTOR NAME PENDING) Camera continues long take in to main bedroom, slowly moving across floor and over bed. Female clothes and dainty undergarments spread across king size beds, including a small caliber handgun at the corner of the bed. Shower can be heard running. Camera continues pan to bathroom door, which is currently closed, then passes through door and smooth fades to inside of bathroom. 3 INT. HOTEL BATHROOM -- MORNING WRITTEN: (RENA - ACTRESS NAME PENDING) EVA is in shower, her silouette visible through semi-opaque glass. Camera pans to bathroom counter where a cellphone and another small caliber handgun are visible. Camera cuts to inside shower, and a neck up view of EVA. She is in her early 20s, short red hair and green eyes. She proceeds to wash her hair. Bar code tattoo must be visible and legible on her left wrist (to be used for in game discovery). Camera cuts to view of her midriff, wet and soapy, glistening in the sunlight entering through the bathroom window. WRITTEN: (ERIN - ACTOR NAME PENDING) Camera cuts to her knees and pans down to her feet, revealing her smooth legs, wet and soapy, glistening in the sunlight entering through the bathroom window. Camera cuts to a view of her back, revealing another small barcode tattoo on the small of her neck (to be used for in game discovery). WRITTEN: (EVA - ACTRESS NAME PENDING) Cellphone rings in the distance with nondescript, traditional ring. Camera cuts to a view of EVA's face, when she stops washing her hair and looks up, an annoyed look on her face. Camera cuts to outside of shower. Cellphone continues to ring. EVA opens the shower door slightly and grabs a towel. Her silouette shows her curves and voluptuous body as she wraps the towel around herself. She opens the door fully, now wrapped in non-revealing towel, and walks to the cellphone to pick it up. WRITTEN: WRITTEN AND DIRECTED BY DAVID FLOR Camera cuts to close up of EVA talking on phone. EVA Yes? UNKNOWN VOICE Hello Eva. EVA (pauses) Who is this? UNKNOWN VOICE You shouldn't have walked where they asked you to. EVA'S face turns to fear. EVA (pauses) But I didn't... UNKNOWN VOICE begins to laugh maniacally. UNKNOWN VOICE Sorry, Eva. Pleasant dreams. UNKNOWN VOICE continues to laugh maniacally. EVA closes her eyes. 4 EXT. HOTEL FACADE -- MORNING Exterior view of third floor of Waldorff Astoria. Suddenly a massive EXPLOSION blats out of the corner suite. Camera cuts to overhead view of sidewalk, where debris showers across pedestrians on the sidewalk. Cars skid out of control along Park Avenue in front of the hotel. FADE TO BLACK as the sound of police and emergency sirens fades. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ 5 EXT. CHICAGO CITY STREETS -- NIGHT AUDIO PLAYBACK: "BARRACUDA" BY HEART Camera is chasing RACHEL as she rides a Ecosse Titanium motorcycle through the streets of Chicago. Camera shifts left and right as she weaves through excess traffic at a high rate of speed. She is wearing a skin-tight leather suit and no helmet, and her long black hair flows loosely behind her. Camera cuts to a front close up of her face, where we can see her deep blue eyes. She is smiling as she continues to weave left and right through traffic at a high rate of speed. Camera briefly zooms in on her license plate (to be used for in game discovery), and then resumes chasing her as she hastily turns in to a parking garage just as the song ends. 6 INT. DREAM GUIDE HEADQUARTERS (DG HQ), FOYER RACHEL nonchalantly walks through the entryway of DG HQ, where BINK is waiting for her. BINK is tall, bald and slightly aging, and is wearing sunglasses indoors. He has a goatee and a black eyepatch, and sports a cane with a large gemstone at the hilt. BINK You're late. RACHEL walks by BINK without stopping or even looking at him. RACHEL Traffic. Guitar riff. 7 INT. DG HQ SITUATION ROOM BINK is standing in front of a massive view screen which displays a variety of tactical readings, maps and other information (to be used for in game discovery). RENA and ERIN are conferenced in, visible on the left side of the screen. RENA is a senior looking woman with white hair and glasses. ERIN is a middle-aged four star general smoking a corn cob pipe. RACHEL is sitting at the main conference table smoking a cigarette, her feet propped up on the table revealing her stiletto heels. RENA Glad you can make it, EVA. At 0817 this morning, EVA was retired with prejudice. ERIN We believe it to be the work of ACHERON. RACHEL stops polishing her nails and looks directly at the viewscreen. RACHEL That's impossible. I retired ACHERON myself. ERIN Recent intel states that ACHERON started his sleep deprivation and mind control experiments again. The only lead we have is an encrypted file and a business card printed with photosensitive ink. RACHEL What's in the encrypted file? RENA It hasn't been decoded yet. RACHEL And the card? Viewscreen image switches to an image of someone at Tech Ops holding the business card up to a black light. The camera switches back to RACHEL before the image is visible to the viewer. RACHEL Enhance. The image on the business card becomes clearer. RACHEL laughs. RACHEL Just post them on the Internet. I'm sure someone can figure it out in no time. RENA You do whatever you have to do, but keep in mind this is an issue of national security. ERIN We've scheduled your walk to start 0800 tomorrow morning. Go speak with tech ops now about the file. BINK will go with you. RACHEL stands up and heads for the door. RACHEL I work better alone. Heavy guitar riff as RACHEL walks out. RENA You sure about this, BINK? BINK does not answer, and turns to walk out. Heavy guitar riff. FADE TO BLACK 8 INT. DG HQ, EQUIPMENT STORAGE AUDIO PLAYBACK: HEAVY GUITAR RIFFS AND DRUM BEATS Video montage showing RACHEL suiting up. Cuts include her removing her leather outfit and changing in to skin tight jeans and tank top with no bra, inserting a clip and pulling back the slide on at least four different handguns, hiding small caliber handguns in each ankle and one tucked in the small of her back, and sliding on a pair of stylish sunglasses. RACHEL looks straight in to the camera and put on red lipstick, then smiles. Heavy guitar riff. Camera pans back as she takes a katana from a storage locker and walks out. Her stiletto heels make audible clicks as she walks. 9 INT. DG HQ, MOTOR POOL RACHEL walks over to here Ecosse Titanium motorcycle, but stops several feet short. She turns and walks over to APRIL, the attendant. APRIL You're cleared to walk. Is something wrong? Not taking your bike? As she finishes her sentence, RACHEL's Ecosse Titanium motorcycle EXPLODES, showing nearby cars with fire and steel. APRIL briefly ducks under her desk. RACHEL doesn't flinch. RACHEL looks back a the wreckage, runs her fingers through her hair and dusts off her shoulders, then turns back to APRIL. RACHEL No APRIL, don't be a fool. I'll take the car. APRIL hands RACHEL a set of keys. RACHEL walks over to a nearby black Aston Martin DB5, unlocks the door and gets in, then floors it. AUDIO PLAYBACK: "I CAN'T DRIVE FIFTY-FIVE" BY SAMMY HAGAR RACHEL rapidly accelerates the DB5 and drives out of the parking area. Camera chases the vehicle, revealing the license plate (to be used for in game discovery) as it exits. Camera continues to follow car for length of audio track as it drives through city at high rate of speed. FADE TO BLACK WRITTEN: TO BE CONTINUED... FIVE SECOND DELAY.
